Albert "Bert" Kastner Boursault, formerly of Plymouth Meeting, PA passed away peacefully on July 19, 2018 in Groton, MA at the age of 94.
Bert was born on June 11, 1924 in New York, NY to George and Marie (Rapp) Boursault. He grew up in Mahwah, NJ, and was an Eagle Scout and a graduate of Ridgewood High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an electronics technician aboard the USS Wallace L Lind in the Asiatic Pacific. He then graduated from Yale University with a degree in Engineering. He worked as a controls engineer for Honeywell (35 years) and Johnson Controls (10 years). He met the love of his life, Amanda Henry Boursault, in a ski group outing, and they were married June 23, 1962 and resided in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
Bert had a love for the outdoors and all things adventurous. He enjoyed rock and mountain climbing, kayaking/canoeing, skiing, sailing (tall ships), travel, spending time with family and friends, and in his later years, teaching his grandchildren how to play poker.
Bert leaves behind his daughter Suzanne and her husband Scott Wilson of Shirley, MA, and his grandchildren Laura, Amanda, and Alex. He is also survived by his sister, Yvonne Fairchild of Santa Fe, NM, and his nephews Win Fairchild and James Kenny, and nieces Anne Cruse, Kate Ferris, and Eileen Lorenzon, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Marie (Rapp) Boursault, and his loving wife of 37 years, Amanda (Henry) Boursault.
Family and friends will gather for a graveside service on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Rd., Roslyn, PA. U.S. Navy Military Honors will follow.
