Still River

Alice (Anderson) Watt, 97, of Still River, MA died peacefully at home on November 8, 2014. She was born in Worcester on September 13, 1917 daughter of the late Ernest and Thyra (Anderson) Anderson and was the wife of the late Richard Watt who died in 2007. She grew up in Worcester and was a graduate of the Worcester School System and
Worcester State Teacher's College. Alice worked as a secretary in her father's law office in Worcester for several years. She married Richard in 1946 and moved to Still River.

Mrs. Watt was the bookkeeper for the Watt family farm, D.M.Watt and Sons, at her home and with her husband, Rich, brought up her family there. She volunteered at the USO during WW2, volunteered at Nashoba Community Hospital Gift Store and at the Harvard Public Library

She was a Girl Scout as well as a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Harvard Women's Club, and the Harvard Congregational Church. She loved hooking rugs, sewing, knitting and quilting and bird watching. Alice especially enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren when they were young and in later years found great joy in time spent with her great granddaughter.

Her survivors include her son David and his wife Myszka Watt of Lunenburg, 2 daughters Susan Watt of Acton, and Margery Watt of Ayer. 2 granddaughters Melissa and her husband Carl Johnson, and Sarah A Watt of Lunenburg, and great granddaughter Molly Johnson. She was also the sister of the late Lloyd Anderson.

Visiting hours will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton, on Tuesday from 5-8 pm. A Memorial Service will be held the Harvard Congregational Church on Wednesday, Still River Road, Harvard, MA on November 12, 2014 at 10 am.
