PEPPERELL, MA - Arlene F. (Knight) Tierney, age 60, a longtime resident of Pepperell, MA died March 12, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of John Tierney of Pepperell, MA.
She was born in Framingham, MA on June 18, 1949, daughter of William and Dolores (Black) Knight who survive her and reside in Maine. She was a graduate of Milford High School Class of 1967. She was a resident of Pepperell, MA for the past 32 years where she worked at the VFW and the Knights of Columbus. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #3291 and Pepperell Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, loved cooking and trips to Puerto Rico and time spent at her camp among friends.
Besides her husband of 30 years, and her parents, she is survived by a son, Michael Tierney of Pepperell, MA three daughters; Kristen McAllister and her spouse Chris Murdough of Pittsfield, NH, Kathleen Carter and her spouse James of Hawaii, and Kelly Oko and her spouse Tom of California, two sisters, Diane Whitten and her spouse Dana of Maine, and Marianne Knight-Ekberg and her spouse Eric of Westford, MA, three brothers, William Knight of Florida, James Knight of Exeter, NH, and Timothy Knight and his spouse Brenda of Sandown, NH, seven grandchildren, Kyle, Kris, Ashley, Emylee, Kaylee, Kameron, and Ryan. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Susan Knight and a brother, Andrew Knight.
