Assunta Maria (Buscemi) Newmaire AKA: Ma, Gram, Nona and Susan died peacefully at her home on June 6th surrounded by her loving family.
Susan was born in West Groton, MA on March 30, 1921, the daughter of the late Carl J. Buscemi and Antonina (Zammuto) Buscemi. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Martin J. Newmaire
She was the proud mother of Joanne (William Farnsworth), Dixie (John Pickard) and Martin (Shirley Newmaire) and beloved grandmother of Kelly, Bill, Maribeth, James, Michael, John, Jr., Christie, Tamara and Martin III (Jay) and their spouses. She cherished her 24 great grandchildren and her 8 great great grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Rosalie Downer, and brothers Angelo, Ralph, Sylvio and Joseph Buscemi.
She was raised in West Groton and moved to Pepperell after her marriage to Martin, Sr. Together they established the Bronze Bell Antiques and Collectibles in the 1960’s. In 1989, she co-founded the Bronze Bell, Inc.
She loved the plants and flowers and the many people who came through the door. Susan enjoyed the beach, reading, cooking, walks to her pond, her family pictures and the Red Sox. She took great pleasure in the home that she and her husband built.

Visiting hours at the Marchand Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant Street, Pepperell, MA on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12th at Our Lady of Grace Parish, worshipping at St. James Church, 13 St. James Ave., West Groton, MA. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pepperell. If you so desire, you may donate in her name to Health Alliance Hospice, Associated Homecare, Montachusett Home Care in Leominster, MA or your charity of choice.
