Beatrice E. Cooper, 97, long time resident of Harvard and most recently of Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley, died on October 16, 2014 with her daughter and a granddaughter with her. Bea was the daughter of the late John H Greenwood and Cicely (Vatcher) Greenwood. She graduated from Lynn English High School in 1935.'
After moving to Harvard in the early 1940's, her husband Henry W. Cooper Jr. took over management o Wee-Ka-Tee-Pah Farm on Stow Road, Bea kept the books. After leaving the farm, Bea took a job as a teller at North Middlesex Savings Bank in Ayer. She later became Assistant Treasurer and then Treasurer, retiring after 25 years.
Bea was always working on sewing projects and became an excellent quilter earning a "First" at the Bolton Fair. She was very proud of this accomplishment. Each Great grandchild has a quilt designed especially for them and completed with love in every stitch. Her later- in- life friends appreciated her warmth and puckish sense of humor. She will be missed by many.
Bea is predeceased by Henry, her husband of 67 years, 2 sisters and a brother. She is survived by her daughters Carol Webb of Bow, NH and Marilyn Ryan and her husband Peter Ryan of Gardner. Also 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren all loved and appreciated by her for their uniqueness and individual gifts.
A Memorial Service will be held at Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. Littleton, on October 25, 2014 at 2 pm. No flowers or donations are necessary, but please take moment to appreciate the shape of a tree, the fragrance and color of a flower or Big Poppi hitting a baseball at Fenway Park.
