Billy D. Dodson, age 92, a longtime resident of Littleton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley. He was the beloved husband of the late Marsha L. (Barbera) Dodson, who predeceased him in 2020.
Born in Allerton, Iowa, on February 18, 1934, Billy was the cherished son of the late Fred and E. Pearle (Myers) Dodson.
He grew up on a farm in rural Iowa. Billy had planned to take over the farm when he finished high school, however, he decided to go to college instead because of his asthma becoming so severe. He spent his college years at Penn State where he received his master’s degree in Mathematics. Billy taught Mathematics in Iowa before changing career paths when he accepted a job at Raytheon in Massachusetts. He worked at Raytheon for several years, then took an engineering job at Mitre for a few years, then ended up going back to Raytheon for many years until his retirement. Billy would always say he was “a farmer turned engineer.” It was at Raytheon that he met the love of his life, Marsha. They settled in Littleton MA and raised their family there.
Billy enjoyed traveling to the White Mountains, especially North Conway, NH. He always kept busy with home improvement projects, Suduko puzzles, going for walks, listening to country music, watching the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday nights, and spending time with his family.
Billy is survived by his son, William Dodson of Lunenburg, MA and his wife, Jennifer. He leaves behind three grandchildren; Jacob, Joshua, and Madelyn. His sister in law, Marjorie Lampron and her husband Donald of Tyngsboro,MA. Also his nephews, Derik, Jason, and Curt, as well as many nephews in Indiana.
Billy was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Marsha and his daughter Rebekah. As well as his siblings, Virginia Ann and Duane.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Life Care Center for the excellent care and love they gave to Billy while he was there.
