Brian Michael Blood, age 61 of Pepperell, Massachusetts, passed away on January 30 after a long and arduous battle against diabetes.

Brian was born on August 6th, 1964, to Martha (Pillsbury) Spaulding and the late Milton E. Blood. He was raised in Pepperell by his mom and dad, Kim Spaulding.

Brian is survived by his daughter, Christine Thompson, (Joshua); his son, Brian Blood Whiting; grandsons, Michael and Nathan Scully; his mom and dad, Martha and Kim Spaulding; brother and sister-inlaw, Milton and Patricia Blood; sister and brother-inlaw, Rebecca and Anthony Karam; nephew, Cameron Johnson; nieces, Madelyn and Paityn Karam; as well as many aunts, uncles, and beloved cousins.

He attended Country Day School in Groton, Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, and graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School in 1982.

Brian entered the United States Navy at the age of 17 through the Delayed Entry Program while he was still in high school. He attended Recruit Training Command at Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois. He proudly served 6 years on the USS Durham, stationed out of San Diego, California. Brian completed his Naval career as a reservist in 1987 at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island, where he was honorably discharged.

Brian worked in construction and became a certified welder and boiler maker. He worked for Dillon Boiler in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, until he was no longer physically able to work.

Brian loved the outdoors and was an avid outdoorsman and power-sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and four-wheeling.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Brian for a period of visitation on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service that will start promptly at 11:30 AM, at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton, MA. His burial, along with United States Navy funeral honors, will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 10 Jersey St., Pepperell, MA.

To honor Brian’s memory and his continued support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, donations may be made in lieu of flowers.
