Bruce Lane

April 4, 1944 — June 22, 2014

Bruce B. Lane, 70 of Westford died unexpectedly on June 22, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Cathy (Williamson) Lane, his wife of 47 years. Devoted father of a son Bruce B. Lane Jr. and his wife Karin of Alpharetta, GA, a daughter Becky Record and her husband D.J Record of North Hampton, NH, and dear grandfather of Sydney Lane, Taylor Lane, Makenzie Lane and Emma Record. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Bean of Ambler, PA and Joan Lane of Hatboro, PA.
Mr. Lane was born in Abington, Pennsylvania on April 4, 1944 son of the late Bertram and Elsie (Milne) Lane. He graduated in 1962 from Neshaminy High School and later graduated from Penn State with a Degree in Fuel Science and earned a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn State he loved being in his fraternity as well as being on the Gymnastic team. He was employed for over twenty five years at General Electric, followed by several years at PTI and finished his career at DRS Power Technology Inc., Fitchburg, MA.
He specialized in Program Management. He was the author of several patents, working extensively with the United States Navy and Electric Boat. He was also a Six Sigma black belt.
Bruce loved vacationing and spending time on the beaches of Cape Cod. He was an avid photographer who enjoyed taking pictures of his beloved family and friends. He loved spending time at Meadow Brook Farm with his horse Petey and dog Zoey. He will be greatly missed.
Visiting hours will be held at Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton, MA on Saturday June 28, 2014 from 5-8 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Parish Church United, 48 Main Street, Westford, MA on Sunday June 29, 2014 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Meadow Brook Farm in care of Brookstone Financial Services, 70 Broadway Street, Westford, MA 01886. His burial will be private.
