Calvin Austin Stewart, Jr., 76, a lifelong resident of Pepperell, MA, passed away on Nov. 27, 2015 after a long illness.
The son of the late C. Austin Stewart Sr. and Evelyn Stewart Fitch, he was born in Pepperell in 1939 and educated in local schools.
He worked at various jobs and retired as supervisor of the Town of Pepperell Cemetery Department.
He was pre-deceased by his brother, G. Daniel Stewart and his sister, Sherry Fitch Moody. One of nine children, he leaves a brother, Robert Fitch and his wife, Patricia of Nashua, NH; and several sisters, Susan Fitch Brooks and her husband, David of Merrimack, NH; Paulette Stewart Holden of Zephyrhills, FL, Roberta Stewart Fernandez and her husband, Walter of Pepperell; Madeline Stewart Shank of Ocala, FL, and Sheryl Fitch Soutra of Sevierville, TN. He also leaves an aunt, Charlotte Scott of Milford, NH.
He had 19 nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
A memorial service and visiting hours will be held at the Marchand Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant Street, Pepperell from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Pepperell following the service. Donations can be made in Calvin's name to the National Kidney Foundation , Inc., 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
