Carol Ann Cole

Carol Ann (Taylor) Cole, age 88, a resident of Groton, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024, with her loving daughter and one of her devoted grandsons. She was the wife of the late Philip Clayton Cole, who died in 2018.

Carol was born in Philadelphia, PA, on October 14, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Miriam (Parker) Taylor. Raised and educated in Philadelphia, Carol graduated from Frankford High School.

On December 28, 1958, she married Philip, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. They met in high school on a class trip to Washington, D.C., and never looked back. They lived in northeast Philadelphia, PA, Blue Bell, PA, and Groton, MA. 

Carol worked many years as a purchasing agent before moving to Massachusetts in 1999 to be closer to her daughter. Carol was quite a prolific cross-stitcher and was known for her lifelike depictions of buildings and animals. Not a holiday went by without her family receiving personalized cross-stitched cards. She also thoroughly enjoyed gardening and birdwatching. She was a devoted Philly sports fan, particularly the Eagles and Flyers, but her favorite team was Penn State Football. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her Massachusetts grandchildren, during the holidays. For many years she enjoyed summers in Wildwood, NJ, as well as touring “Merry Old England” with Philip.

Carol was the mother of Christine Diane Cole and the late Gregory Steven Cole (deceased- September 2024). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Connor Cline, Wesley Cline, Jennifer Cole, Ryan Cole, Lindsay Ryder, Devin Cole, Jarrett Cole, and Gillian Cole.

Services for Carol will be private. She will be interred alongside her husband, Philip, at Westlawn Cemetery in Littleton, MA.
