Catherine T. Tobin

Pepperell - Catherine T. Tobin, 81, of Leominster and formerly of Pepperell, died January 12, 2009 at Keystone Center, Leominster after a short illness.


She was born in Littleton, MA on October 10, 1927, the daughter of the late William S. and Mary E. (Breen) Tobin. She was a graduate of Pepperell High School, Class of 1945 and the former Burbank Hospital School of Nursing in Fitchburg, MA. Before returning to Pepperell, she resided in the Fitchburg/Leominster, MA area for 25 years.


Miss Tobin had been a surgical nurse for Dr. Robert E. Farrand in Fitchburg for 25 years. She enjoyed Geriatric Nursing at the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Infirmary in Fitchburg, MA and later at Fairlawn Nursing Home in Leominster from where she retired. She enjoyed the theatre, day-tripping and walking. She loved her cats and all of God's little birds and creatures. She was a life member of the Burbank Hospital School of Nursing, Alumni Association and the MSPCA. While living in Pepperell, she was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and was a communicant of St. Leo's Church while living in Leominster.


She is survived by her sister-in-law, Bette Tobin of Colorado; a niece, Catherine M. Bordy of Utah; three grand-nephews of California and Utah and several cousins. She is pre-deceased by a brother William S. Tobin, Jr. and a sister Margaret E. Tobin.


Visiting hours at the MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 16 Pleasant Street, Pepperell, MA on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. A funeral mass will be offered on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell Street, Pepperell, MA Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pepperell, MA.
