Charlotte Florence Freeman (Hartwell) age 87, died after a short illness Sunday, January 8, 2023. She was a lifelong resident of Littleton, MA. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Charlotte was born in Concord, MA on August 19, 1935 to the late Albert W. and Winnifred (Pickard) Hartwell. She was a graduate of Littleton High School, class of 1954. In her high school years, she enjoyed playing basketball. She remained in Littleton where she raised her family. After high school, she worked at the Reuben Hoar Library and then at the family business Parlee Lumber for almost 50 years. She was an avid seamstress and knitter, and made a lot of the clothing for her children when they were young. She enjoyed watching and cheering on the Boston Red Sox. She enjoyed going for walks and spending time with family.
Surviving her is her husband Henry G. Parlee of Chelmsford, MA, her sister, Abigail (Hartwell) Rice of Littleton, MA. Her Daughters, Deborah (Freeman) Stanford (Ralph) of Littleton, MA, Cheryl Freeman of Littleton, MA, Amy (Freeman) Dumais (Ronald) of Clinton, MA. She was the grandmother "Grammie" of 5 and the great-grandmother "GeeGee" to 4 as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her parents her brother William Hartwell and her brother-in-law Raymond Rice.
Charlotte was a kind and caring person and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Charlotte for a graveside service on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM, at Westlawn Cemetery, 7 New Estate Road, Littleton, MA.
