Chester Johnson

August 2, 1927 — October 18, 2009

DEVENS- Chester Johnson, age 82, of Devens, and formerly of Pepperell, left this life suddenly on October 18, 2009. He was the husband of Dorothy (Dymsza) Johnson with whom he was married to for sixty years.

Mr. Johnson graduated from Arlington High School in 1948 and joined the Coast Guard during WWII. Mr. Johnson was employed as an Air Traffic Controller in Nashua, NH for over 25 years. After retiring, he worked at the Lawrence Library in Pepperell for many years. He was very active in the town of Pepperell with the Board of Health, Cemetery Commission and the planning committee for the Senior Center. He recently enjoyed his time at the Moose Lodge while wintering in Barefoot Bay, FL.

Besides his wife Dorothy, he leaves his children, Linda Lawton of Melbourne Beach, FL, Stephen Johnson of Provincetown, MA, Carolyn Armstrong of Higganum, CT and Christine DeGuglielmo of Devens, MA, as well as seven grandchildren that he adored.

Visiting hours at the MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 16 Pleasant St., Pepperell on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 777 West Hollis St., Nashua, NH. Burial at the convenience of the family.
