Claire F. (Durkin) Russo

October 4, 1928 — June 27, 2021

Claire F. (Durkin) Russo, 92 and a longtime resident of Littleton passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was the beloved wife of Richard Russo for over 70 years.

Claire was born in Allston MA on October 4, 1928, a daughter to the late Edward and Bertha (Crowell) Durkin. Claire was predeceased by her two brothers George and his wife Noella, and Robert and his wife Arlene, and Claire's sister Dorothea and her husband William.

She attended local schools where she met and befriended Richard. It wasn't until years later when Richard walked Claire home after she missed her bus stop that the two became an item. The couple was married at St. Patrick's church in Watertown in 1949. They moved to Littleton in 1960 and raised their family. A real renaissance woman, Claire was good at just about anything she tried. She was an avid crafter and specialized in oil painting. She was an amazing cook, avid gardener and will be fondly remembered for her many trips across country and her waterskiing talent. Nothing brought Claire more joy than spending time with her family. She is loved beyond measure and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband, Richard, Claire is survived by her sons; Robin and his wife Barbara of Fitchburg and Ron and his wife, Lynne of Littleton. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Jaclyn and her husband Tyler, Chiara and her husband Nathaniel, and James as well as three great grandchildren Dennis, Charlotte and Patrick. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Peggy and her husband Lenny of Bellingham as well as her brother-in-law, Ray of Pennsylvania. As well as numerous nieces and nephews that will greatly miss Claire.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Claire for a period of visitation on Thursday July 1, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm un the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 2, 2021 at 10:00 am in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Anne Church 75 King Street, Littleton. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, New Estate Road, Littleton.
