Clarence Oliver Smith, 88 and a longtime resident of Littleton passed away peacefully at Care Dimensions Hospice in Lincoln on March 9, 2021. He was the beloved husband to Marie (Hamerel) Smith.
Clarence was born in Charleston, SC on September 16, 1932, a son to the late John and Naomi (Peace) Smith. For over 20 years, Clarence honorably served in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam where he earned the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was stationed at Fort Knox and traveled extensively in Belgium and France. He went on to earn his degree from Newbury Junior College and was employed as an operating room unit manager at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. In 1971, Clarence and Marie moved to Littleton where they raised their family. In his spare time, Clarence enjoyed painting and watching old movies. Above all, family was paramount in Clarence's life. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, Clarence is survived by his children; John of Townsend and Olivier of Manchester, NH as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service with Military Honors will be held in Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton on Saturday March 13, 2021.
