Constantine J. Lahanas

Constantine J. (Gus) Lahanas, 87, of Harvard, Massachusetts died Tuesday, September 15,2015 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Gus was born in New York City to James and Bess Lahanas, both originally from Greece. He was a graduate of MIT, where he received both a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Before his retirement in 1990, he worked for over 38 years at General Radio Corporation (later GenRad, Inc.) in Concord, MA, first as an electrical engineer and then later as Vice President of Corporate Development. Gus moved to Harvard in 1960, where he spent more than fifty happy years with his family.

Gus is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn R. (Spalding) Lahanas, and his five children: James R. Lahanas of Harvard; Jayne C. (Lahanas) Rowe and husband Thomas, also of Harvard; Kathryn J. Mallow of Orange Park, Florida; Kenneth J. Lahanas of Austin, Texas; Karl R. Lahanas of Stow, Massachusetts. He also leaves his sister, Mia MacRae of Oakland, California, and his three grandsons, Jordan K. Lahanas, Tyler R. Lahanas, and Matthew P. Rowe.

Mr. Lahanas was a member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), and served on the Harvard School Committee for many years. He enjoyed reading, following the stock market, and watching his favorite team, the New England Patriots. He very much enjoyed spending time with his family and spending the summer months at the family cottage on Bustins Island in Maine. Visiting Hrs. Friday 4-7 PM at the Badger Funeral Home 347 King St. Littleton. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute P.O. Box
