David W. Long

April 2, 1970 — February 6, 2023

Dunstable, Massachusetts

David Warren Long — Corporate financial leader, global traveler, sports enthusiast, husband, and father — of Dunstable, Massachusetts, died on Monday, February 6th, 2023 after a long illness, while surrounded by his beloved wife Kristin (Collins) Long and their family.

He was the dedicated father of Allison, Erika, Robbie, and Jeffrey; brother to Cheryl (Long) Blake and Debbie (Long) Vinal; and loving relative  to his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws. David was born in Dracut, Massachusetts on April 2, 1970 to Warren Long and Frances (McGrade) Long. Following completion of his secondary education at Central Catholic in Lawrence, he graduated from the University of Massachusetts (Bachelor’s degree) in Lowell and the University of Pennsylvania (Master’s degree) in Philadelphia.

David traveled globally for most of his career. He held senior management positions in a variety of industry leading companies, including Thermo Fisher Scientific, Corindus Vascular Robotics, and PPG Industries. As Chief Financial Officer for Corindus, David took the company public, ran it for many years as a New York Stock Exchange-traded company, and was instrumental in negotiating a strategic sale of Corindus to Siemens in one of the ten largest MedTech transactions on Wall Street in 2019. One of the products developed by Corindus has the potential to materially improve the way and speed interventional healthcare is delivered globally for decades to come. Most recently, David has served on the Board of Directors for multiple organizations, including Amplitude Vascular Systems and the Alfred Mann Foundation.

David was a well-known athlete in Dracut and at Central Catholic, excelling particularly on the baseball diamond. He was a dedicated follower of whichever sports teams his children played on, particularly football, ice hockey, basketball, and baseball. David was a Christian man, active in the Catholic faith and influenced particularly by the Marist Brothers of Central Catholic, his alma mater.

The Long Family would like to thank all the staff at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, most especially Dr. Joseph Franses and Dr. John Mullen for their exemplary dedication to his treatment.

Friends and family will gather to honor and remember David on Wednesday February 15, 2023 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. Littleton, MA. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday February 16, 2023 at 10:00AM in St. Ann’s Church 75 King St. Littleton, MA. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton.

In lieu of Flowers, please consider a donation to the Mass General Cancer Center online at giving.massgeneral.org or the Lazarus House, run by the Marist Brothers, in Lawrence, MA online at lazarushouse.org/donate-now.
