Donald Alexander Barclay, age 91, of Groton and formerly a long-time resident of Westford, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Adrienne (Oullet) Barclay.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1932, he was the son of the late James Robinson Barclay and Lillian (Guay) Barclay. Donald was raised and early educated in Lawrence, graduating from Lawrence High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country from 1951 to 1954, where he was honorably discharged.
Upon his return home, Donald and Adrienne married and later settled in Westford, where together they raised their loving family. Donald worked for many years as a photographer/graphic artist/technical illustrator for major corporations such as Kennecott Copper and Dynatrend.
Donald also enjoyed hunting and fishing, recreational photography, playing billiards, singing, and playing his ukuleles, cribbage, and family gatherings.
He is survived by his children, James Barclay and his wife Terri, John Barclay and his wife Darcey; Gerald Barclay and his wife Valerie, Elizabeth Sauer and Jay Barclay and his wife Jodi, his grandchildren; Drew Barclay, Justin Barclay, Stacy Hudak, Issac Valley, Jacob Valley, Ian Barclay and Patrick Barclay and six great-grandchildren.
Services at Pine Grove Cemetery, Westford, with U.S. Army military honors, will be private.
