Donald Robert Blood, Sr.

September 21, 1944 — October 11, 2025

Ayer, Massachusetts

Donald Robert Blood Sr., known to family and friends as Don, passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2025. Born on September 21, 1944, in Boston, Massachusetts, Don spent his early years in Cambridge and Lexington before becoming a long-time resident of Littleton and later Ayer.

Don was a strong-willed and passionate person who always lived life on his own terms. He was proud of his service in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion and Littleton VFW Post 6556. Don also worked in various sales and retail positions with companies such as Friendly Ice Cream and Star Market.

Over the years, Don had a wide range of interests like coaching his boys’ hockey teams, riding dirt bikes with buddies, hunting, skiing (both water and snow), boating, and playing his music. He enjoyed card games with the grandkids and cribbage with friends. He loved all animals (especially his dogs) and recently spent many hours feeding wild animals from his deck.

Donald is survived by his wife of 59 years, Christine Blood, and his sons, Michael and Donald Jr. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Nick, Jeff, Kate, Matt, Joseph, James, and Anna, and many nieces, nephews, and close cousins. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Sr. (Red) and Dora Blood, and his brother, Richard Jr. (Dickie).

Please join us to honor Don's life on Saturday, 25 Oct 2025, at 12:00 pm at Badger Funeral Homes Inc, 347 King Street, Littleton, Massachusetts 01460.
