Donald J. Monteiro, age 67, a longtime resident of Pepperell died on September 22, 2018 at the Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster, MA after a short illness surrounded by his family.
He was born in Lowell, MA on November 17, 1950, the son of the late Silverio and Caroline (De Jesus) Monteiro. He was educated in the Lowell School System. He was employed at Arc Work Force in Fitchburg for many years until his passing. While living in Pepperell for over 50 years, he was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, a former member of the Knights of Columbus Pepperell Council #317. His hobbies were bowling and sports. He enjoyed his trips to Foxwoods.
He leaves a brother, Ronald Monteiro and his wife, Ann of Pepperell;three sisters, Sandra Thomas of Buffalo, NY, Rose Marie Bedard and her husband Ronald of Pepperell and Deborah Bartelson and her husband Keith of Pepperell and several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. He is predeceased by a brother-in-law, Stephen Thomas.
Visiting hours at the Marchand Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant Street, Pepperell, MA on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday September 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Parish, worshipping at St. Joseph Church, 28 Tarbell Street, Pepperell. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pepperell.
