Doris Helen Whitney

Doris Helen Whitney, age 88 of Groton, Ma, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Westford House nursing home in Westford with her loving daughter by her side.

Born on February 14, 1930 in Westford, Doris was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Mabel B. (Miller) Wright. Raised and educated in Westford, Doris attended Westford Academy and went on to become a care giver at Westford Nursing Home and a Page Setter at Murray Printing Co.

Doris was predeceased by her loving Husband Harold E Whitney, her loving son Harold E Whitney Jr and her two brothers Walter and Donald Wright. She is survived by her three daughters Mabel Davis of North Carolina, Diana Capshaw and her husband Jerald of Oklahoma, Brenda Tyler and her husband Michael of Raymond, Maine, her Daughter-in-law Diane Whitney of Groton as well as 13 Grandchildren, 22 great-Grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Doris on Monday, April 30 from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Badger Funeral Home, 45 School St., Groton. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 1st at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westford.
