Dorothy Ann Collins, age 89, of Littleton passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday August 30, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Harold A. Burg.
Born in Boston on July 28, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Frank G. and Sarah (McMahon) Collins. Dorothy was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain. After graduating from High School, Dorothy went to work for John Hancock. She later moved to Weston where she settled and raised a family.
Dorothy will be remembered for her life-long dedication to her family and to her career as a Realtor. She owned and operated her own Real Estate company in Orlando for many years aptly named, "THE Real Estate Lady." Retiring at age 76, Dorothy enjoyed her free time caring for, and cherishing animals. She loved all cats big and small, and would keep busy taking trips to the Zoo, local craft fairs, and candle shopping at Yankee Candle.
She is survived by her children: Edward and his wife Jean Burg of Littleton, James and his wife Rose Burg of Conroe, TX, Sarah and her husband Robert Lanza of Cumberland, RI, Lynda and husband Steven Richer of Woonsocket, RI, Paula Burg of Taunton and Marilyn Burg of Littleton. Her brother, Charles Collins of Weymouth and twelve Grandchildren: Robert, Jennifer, Kalasia, J. Daniel, Karalynda, Eric, Caroline, James, Everett, Tanya, Morgan and Victoria. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy is predeceased by her siblings, John Collins, Francis Collins, Irene Pratt and Paul Breen.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Dorothy for a period of Visitation on Friday September 4, 2020 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 11:00 am. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Holyhood Cemetery, 584 Heath Street, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467 at 1:00 pm.
