Douglas "Doug" A. Cregar, a life long resident of Harvard, passed away on Sunday September 26th at St Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston. He was the beloved son of Royall and Sandra (Richardson) Cregar. A 1983 graduate of The Bromfield School and 1996 graduate of Niagra University with a BA in Fine Arts (Theater, Management).
His interests included genealogy, theater, the Red Sox and Harvard History. He was most passionate about Harvard History and was Board Member and current President of the Harvard Historical Society where he shared his talents for bringing history to life. He was an avid reader, researcher and enthusiastically embraced learning new things.
Family and friends remember him as a kind, witty, and generous soul who always had a good word to say, and story to share. Annually, he spent time in Wolfboro, New Hampshire with his gang of friends. In his younger years, he ventured across country, and would regale us with his adventures. He is survived by his parents, Royall and Sandra Cregar of Harvard, his sister, MaryLee Daniels, and David Daniels, brother-in-law, of Williamstown, MA. He leaves Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many close friends.
Family and friends can gather for Doug's service on Sunday October 10, 2021 at 12 pm in the First Baptist Church/Harvard Historical Society, 213 Still River Rd., Harvard. The Harvard Historical Society will host a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in his memory to:
