Emblem

Edwin Lawrence Delaney of Littleton, MA, passed away peacefully with his daughter Colleen and her husband Bill at his side, in his home on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Edwin grew up in Havertown PA. with his siblings Mary Teti (deceased) and John Delaney. Edwin got his associate degree from St. Josephs and worked as a district sales manager for Astra Zeneca prior to his retiring in 1994.

Edwin was a very proud marine and served 4 years of active duty. Whenever you saw him, he was sure to have his Marine baseball cap on. After retirement, he enjoyed golfing and being in the Florida sun, with then wife Phyllis Delaney (deceased). After living in Florida, he moved to Massachusetts in 2003.

He was very outgoing and was affectionally known as the Mayor of Market Basket, where he frequently shopped and engaged with employees. He loved being a grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed his morning Dunkin Donut runs and usually came back with a “treat” for his grandchildren and then great grandchildren, going against their parents wishes.

He is survived by his children, Kathleen Campbell, Colleen Cole, Eileen Wheaton, Eddie Delaney, Scott Delaney and is predeceased by his son Todd Delaney. He was the proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

If you knew Ed, he wasn’t shy about sharing his opinions, but that is what made him who he was. A fierce, kind and loving man. We will miss him dearly but find peace in knowing he is in heaven with his son Todd. Rest in peace Dad, we love you.
