Elizabeth "Betty" Helen Abbott

May 1, 1932 — October 7, 2017

Elizabeth H. "Betty" (Davis) Abbott, 85, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 after a brief illness in the Life Care Center of Littleton.

Betty was born on May 1, 1932 in Pascoag, RI and was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Helen (Sadowski) Davis. She was a graduate of Burrillville High School in Rhode Island. Betty was a resident of Pawtucket until 1969 when she then relocated to Lynchburg, VA where she raised her family. She also lived in New Britain, CT for many years and Groton for the past 11 years.

Betty worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years in New Britain, CT. She had a love for music and a fabulous voice to go with it and belonged to various singing organizations. Betty loved to cook, knit and sew but her greatest passion in life was her family and raising her beloved children. Her children and her grandchildren were her world. She was not only their mother and grandmother but their friend. Her passing will leave a void in their lives but the loving memories will be there forever.

She had many good friends and a rich life. She was kind and caring and would give anything she could to help others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children, Betty-Ann Brown, Robert M. Abbott, Leslie T. Alessandri and her husband, Matthew; three grandchildren, Aaron S. Newman and his spouse, Chris Newman, Justin Abbott and his spouse, Amber Abbott, Nicholas M. Alessandri and one great grandson, Preslee Abbott and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, Robert Abbott who had resided in Lynchburg, VA and her seven siblings.


A Celebration of Life will be announced at a future date.
