Elizabeth (Drew) "Bettye" Coyle, 94, of Nashua, NH, passed away on April 9, 2022 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, in the company of her daughters.
Bettye was born in Hingham, MA, on July 16, 1927 to the late Robert M. Drew and Dorothy F. Groce. She grew up in Hingham, graduating from Hingham High School in 1945 and attended the Massachusetts School of Art, earning a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design in 1949. At college she met a handsome Navy veteran, Harold "Harry" Coyle, whom she married in 1949 (Harry passed in 2010).
From 1957, Bettye and Harry made their home in Littleton, MA, where they raised their three children. Over the years, Bettye was active as a Sunday school teacher at the Congregational Church, a substitute elementary school teacher in local schools, and was the treasurer of Littleton Country Gardeners. In 1987, the couple retired to New Hampshire, where they lived in Exeter and then Nashua.
Bettye is survived by her son, Harold P. Coyle Jr. and his wife, Irene, of Ayer, MA, and her two daughters, Susanne E. Cutuli and her husband, Salvatore, of Kingston, NH, and D. Diane Larsen and her husband, Jeffrey, of Townsend, MA. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, Robert M. Drew Jr. and his wife Virginia, of Scituate, MA, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grandnephews.
Internment will be a private family ceremony at Westlawn Cemetery in Littleton, MA. Family and friends will gather for a celebration of life on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Littleton, 330 King Street, Littleton.
