Elizabeth (Chase) Lienhard, 57, a longtime resident of Groton passed away peacefully on August 20, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was the devoted wife of Todd Lienhard.
Liz was born on March 2, 1963, a daughter to the late Robert and Gertrude "Betty" Chase. She grew up in Watertown and attended Watertown High School. Her family also had a summer home on Drake's Island in Wells, Maine, where they shared many happy memories. She earned her certificate from Katharine Gibbs School and went on to work many different jobs. Notably at the Atrium School in Watertown. Her favorite job of all though, was caring for Grace and Harper for the last seven years.
After her Watertown years, she and her husband moved to Groton, where they raised their 3 children. She loved the community in Groton and called it home.
Liz was an avid reader. She will be remembered fondly by her book club. She was an active member of the Union Congregation Church's Bell Choir. Family was paramount in Liz's life. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family and friends. She was the "cool mom" and a friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed. She was so unbelievably proud of her children and all of their accomplishments.
In addition to her husband, Liz is survived by her children; Katie, Maggie and Sam. She is further survived by her siblings; Martha and Bill Gibson, Nancy and Rob Ryan, Stephen and his partner Joe Melohusky, and Jennifer Wuerthner as well as a niece, nine nephews, and 10 grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, Rob Chase.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Dubois and his team at the Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson. They also would like to thank the Nashoba Nursing Service and Hospice who took such good care of Liz at her home in her final months.
All family and friends are welcome to gather to honor and remember Liz for a period of Life Celebration from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday August 26, 2020 in the Badger Funeral Home, 45 School Street, Groton. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, funeral services will be private,
