Emile G. Berube, age 87, died unexpectedly in Boston on September 4, 2016. He was the husband of the late Lorraine C. (Carignan) Berube who died in 1995 with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.
He was born in Lowell on May 19, 1929, the son of the late Alfred and Eva (Lambert) Berube and was educated at St. Joseph School in Lowell. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Emile was Owner and Operator of Berube Printing in Pepperell for many years and was employed by New England Motor Rate Bureau in Burlington, MA prior to his retirement. He was a very active member of many social clubs including the Pawtucketville Social Club, Club National, Eastwood Club, American Legion and the V.F.W. Post #3291. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Lafayette Club, a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council #317 and a longtime Treasurer of the Pepperell Lions Club where he received the highest award, the Melvin Jones Award.
He is survived by two sons, Norman Berube and wife Kristen of Fitzwilliam, NH and Marc Berube and wife Lynn of Fitchburg; two daughters, Diane Gregoire and husband Paul of Pennsylvania and Sue Tanguay and Richard Egan and son-in-law Dan Tanguay of Pepperell; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Ryan, Gregory, Kiley, Kaylee, Amy, Justin and Destini; three great-granddchildren, Caeleb, Logan, and Vivian; several sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. He is pre-deceased by a brother, Ronald Berube.
Relatives and friends may call at the Marchand Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant Street, Pepperell, MA on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. with a funeral mass celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Parish, Worshipping at St. Joseph Church, Pepperell. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pepperell.
