Eric Mathew Bergeron

November 10, 1973 — August 8, 2025

Littleton, Massachusetts

Eric Mathew Bergeron, age 51, of Littleton, formerly of Waltham, passed away peacefully in hospice care on Friday, August 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a long battle with alcohol addiction. He was the devoted husband of twenty years to Kerri Jill Garbis and the cherished father of their daughter, Sydney Bergeron, both of Littleton.

Born on November 10, 1973, in Newton, Massachusetts, Eric was the son of Arthur Charles Bergeron and Kathleen Marie (Burke) Bergeron of Hudson, formerly of Waltham. Raised and educated in Waltham, he graduated from Waltham High School in the Class of 1991 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University’s esteemed Entrepreneurship program.

A lifelong Scout, Eric devoted more than forty years to the Boy Scouts of America, a service that was both a personal passion and a profound gift to his community. His journey began as a Cub Scout in Pack 250 in Waltham from 1979 to 1984, followed by his years as a Boy Scout in Troop 250 from 1984 to 1991, during which he earned the rank of Eagle Scout on April 4, 1990. He went on to serve as Assistant Scoutmaster from 1991 to 1995, and then as Scoutmaster for two separate terms, from 1995 to 2001 and again from 2012 until the present. He also served as a Troop Committee Member from 2001 to 2012 and as Troop Committee Chair twice, from 2001 to 2003 and from 2008 to 2012. His leadership was further recognized through Wood Badge in 1996, membership in the Order of the Arrow as a Brotherhood Member, and service as a Merit Badge Counselor for Camping, Cooking, Canoeing, Kayaking, Sailing, and Swimming. Eric was also a founding member of the Waltham Friends of Scouting, Inc., helping ensure the future of the program he loved so deeply. Through these roles, he shaped generations of Scouts, guiding them not only in skills but also in integrity, resilience, and community spirit.

Eric married Kerri on October 16, 2004, in New York City. The couple moved to Littleton before welcoming their daughter, Sydney. Eric built a career in the technology sector, working as a project manager and developer for several companies. In 2011, he and Kerri co-founded Ovation Communication, where they worked side by side for many years, blending their talents in business and creativity.

Along with his wife, daughter, and parents, Eric is survived by his sisters Amy (Bergeron) Pereira, Lisa (Bergeron) Mahoney, and Megan (Bergeron) DiSciscio; his in-laws Michael Pereira, Matthew Mahoney, Jean-Paul DiSciscio, Jason Garbis, Amy (Robins) Garbis, Kendall (Garbis) Lowe, Robert Lowe, and Marvin Garbis and his wife Nancy; and his bounty of nieces and nephews Shira Garbis, Shelly Garbis, Isaak Lowe, Ryan Pereira, Zachary Pereira, Kendall Pereira, Charlotte Mahoney, Benjamin Mahoney, and Lydia DiSciscio.
