Eric Todd Long

January 3, 1972 — August 2, 2016

Eric Todd Long of Ayer, Massachusetts passed away Tuesday, August 2nd, 2016 at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born in West Point, NY on January 3, 1972, he was the son of Barbara (Hawthorne) Long and the late George Long.  He grew up in Orange County, NY and was a graduate of Monroe – Woodbury School System, Class of 1990. Eric then received his Bachelors of Science in Environmental Sciences from Cook College, Rutgers University.  


After graduation, Eric made his home in the Tri-State Area for several years.  He had a career in Information Technology and Marketing as a Professional Services Manager for IKON, Ricoh, and Toshiba. He married on December 8, 2014 in gorgeous Laguna Hills, California (his favorite state) to the love of his life, Deborah.  He traveled the country and lived in New Mexico for 5 years then moved to Ayer, MA in November 2015.


Eric accepted Jesus as his savior at an early age at Craigville Bible Church in Chester, NY. He was a member of Sagebrush Community Church in Albuquerque, NM. He loved God, his family, traveling, and the California Shores. He had a passion for cars and football, especially the Dallas Cowboys.  Eric was a wonderful father to his 2 young children and loved them dearly.  He will be remembered for his bravery, perseverance, genuineness, strong intellect, unwavering patience, and caring nature.


Mr. Long is survived by his mother Barbara Long of Missouri City, TX, his wife Deborah (Gallo) Long, and his 2 beautiful twins, Brayden and Violet Long of Ayer, MA. He has two brothers, Sean (his wife Anette) of Missouri City, TX, and Nikita (his wife Tonya) of Deland, FL, and 2 sisters, Jeanine (her late husband Clyde) of Missouri City, TX, and Vonda of Woodbridge, VA. He also has numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.


A funeral service will be held at St. Mathews Methodist Church, 435 Central Street, Acton, MA on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton, MA.
