Eugene Peter Smith

Eugene “Gene” Peter Smith age 71 of Ashburnham, Massachusetts passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024. He was the loving husband of Janice Diane (Lambert) Smith.

Born in Arlington, Massachusetts on May 14, 1953, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Annie (Gouthro) Smith.

Raised and early educated in Arlington, Gene soon moved to Littleton and where he graduated from Littleton High School. On December 10, 1977, Janice and Gene married in Chelmsford, Massachusetts and remained in Littleton for a period before moving to their new home in Ashburnham in 1983.

Gene worked for many years as a computer technician for Digital Equipment Co. as well as several other local companies until his retirement in 2021.

Gene enjoyed working in his yard and tending to their swimming pool, he also enjoyed sitting by the fire with family and friends as well as caring for many animals.

Along with his wife he is survived by his daughter Tina Marie Roller of California, his grandchildren, Raylan Roller and Rilley Roller, dear friend Madalyn Roberge of Hudson, MA and his sister Phyllis Smith of Arlington. He was predeceased by his brothers Thomas Smith, Jerome Smith and sister Judith Marie Smith.

Services for Gene will be private.
