Evelyn H. (Caristo) Hadley, age 90, of Cupertino, California and a longtime resident of Pepperell died April 11, 2011 after a period of declining health surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Franklin O. Hadley, Sr. who died in 2002.
She was born in Revere, MA on Sept. 24, 1920, the daughter of the late Joseph and Carrie (Preti) Caristo. She was educated in the Revere School System and graduated from Girls Trade School as a dressmaker. She spent the next 40 years as a seamstress as a member of I.L.G.W.U. While living in Pepperell for most of her life, she was a communicant and active member of the former St. Joseph Church. She was pre-deceased by her oldest son, Franklin O. Hadley, Jr.
She leaves a son, Dennis J. Hadley and his wife Elizabeth of Cupertino, CA, daughter-in-law, Nancy Hadley of Stoneham, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours at the Marchand Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Pepperell on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services on Thursday, April 21st at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pepperell.
