Evelyn (Taylor) Wheeler age 85 and life long Groton resident passed away peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Apple Valley Center in Ayer. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Wheeler.
Evelyn Taylor was born in Groton on December 28, 1931 the son of the late Robert H. and Ethel (Musgrave) Taylor. Raised and educated in Groton she graduated from Groton High School. Evelyn married Charles on October 28, 1961 and they remained in Groton where together they raised their loving children.
A devoted wife and homemaker, Evelyn enjoyed the role of wife and mother and was always a great source of support and guidance. During her life, she cared for her elderly relatives and drove a school bus for the handicapped. She enjoyed bowling, square dancing, playing cards with her friends and relatives, and watching the Red Sox. She would also frequent Foxwoods and adored her beloved dogs and grand dogs.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Wheeler) Walsh and her husband Leo of Townsend and Dianne (Wheeler) Bissonette of VA, her sister Barbara (Taylor) Carapella of MO and grandchildren, Nina Decot, Corey Decot, Michael Bissonette and Samantha Bissonette and two great-grandsons Brandon Corbett and Anthony Tompkins and many cherished nieces and nephews who were very dedicated to her throughout her whole life. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond Taylor.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Evelyn on Friday, June 23 from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Badger Funeral Home, 45 School Street, Groton. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Groton Cemetery.
