Fernando Cosmo DeLuca

July 30, 1926 — April 9, 2017

Fernando Cosmo Deluca, age 90 of Littleton recently of Bridgewater passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine Sherrard, loving father of Roberta and husband Alan Schwartz, of Mendham, New Jersey, Mary Jo and husband Robert Dion, of Quincy, Julia and husband Dennis Blanchard of Bridgewater, and James and wife Shirley DeLuca of West Bridgewater; step-father to Jane McConnell of Hubbardston. Former husband of Helen (Smith) DeLuca of Quincy; brother of Doris DeLuca of Naples, FLA, he was predeceased by 5 siblings. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. DeLuca was born in Quincy and joined the US Navy during WWII. He served 22 years in the Naval Air Command as an aircraft mechanic and instructor. He spent most of his civilian working life as an aircraft instructor at the East Coast Aero Technical School in Bedford. He was a talented photographer and enjoyed golf, woodworking, gardening, and whatever else took his fancy.

He was a life-long learner and a real renaissance man. He will be dearly missed by all.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Fernando on Thursday, April 13 at 11:00 am in the Meetinghouse Church, 3 Nickerson Avenue, Middleboro, MA. All are encouraged to attend.
