Florence (Durant) Jarvis, 97 of Ayer, died on February 9, 2014 at Apple Valley Center in Ayer. She was born in Groton on May 3, 1916, daughter of the late Harold and Flora (Trumbel) Durant. She was the wife of the late Russell Jarvis who died in 1987. She grew up in West Groton and made her home in Ayer for most of her life. She was babysitter for many years and always enjoyed seeing many of the children later in life. Florence enjoyed walking, taking drives, going out to eat, especially for fried clams at the beach, lottery scratch tickets and spending time with her family.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Pamela Regan of Ayer and Beverly CIGNA of Ohio. A son, Leon (Butch) Jarvis, predeceased her. She is also survived by 3 sisters: Dorothy Shepard of Ayer, Helen Tedesco of Groton and Margery Albert of Saugus. She also is survived by 8 grandchildren: Shawn Regan, Shannon Brown, Kelly Bartholomew, Daniel Jarvis, Michael Jarvis, Donna Hampson, Kathy Depp and Pam Winn, and more than 2 dozen great grandchildren.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton on Wednesday Feb 12, 2014, from 4-7 pm. , A Graveside will be held on Thursday Feb 20 at 11 am at Woodlawn Cemetery Ayer,
