Florence J. (St. Hilaire) Ratcliffe, 93, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley in Littleton, MA.
Born in Sherbrooke, Canada she was the first-born child of Leontine and Simeon St. Hilaire. She immigrated to the United States with her parents as an infant, and was raised in Lawrence, MA where she attended parochial school and graduated from Lawrence High School with the class of 1940. Florence proudly took the oath of United States citizenship in 1940.
She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Ratcliffe with whom she was married for 50 years.
Florence resided in Dracut, Lowell, and Methuen for several years. Later in life, she enjoyed living in Shirley, Westford, and East Greenwich, RI with her children, as her greatest joy was being with her family. Florence also enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, socializing with friends and family, and traveling.
She is survived by three sons, Frederick Ratcliffe and his wife, Karen of Shirley, Kenneth Ratcliffe and his wife, Christine of East Orleans, and Brian Ratcliffe of Lowell; and three daughters, Joan Ratcliffe of Lowell, Jean Ratcliffe and her husband, Robert Laforge of East Greenwich, RI, and Deborah Crocker and her husband, James Crocker of Westford; eleven grandsons: Shaun, Bryan, John, Kenneth, Michael, Jonathan, Daemian, Joseph, Abe, Dylan and Jonas; and six great-grandchildren: Lily, Cole, Madeleine, Samuel, Theodore, and Douglas.
She is also survived by two brothers, Richard and Robert St. Hilaire; and three sisters, Helen Low, Loretta Pawlick, Jeannette Klein, and several nieces and nephews.
