Frances (Morello) Feeney 76, of Groton died peacefully at her residence on November 6, 2013. She was born in Everett, MA on November 27, 1936 daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ellen (McLaughlin) Morello. She graduated from Medford High School, Boston University and received advanced degrees at Rivier College after her children were grown. Frances was married to John Feeney in 1956 and has made her home in Endwell, NY, Burlington, Concord, and then Groton since 1978.
Fran was currently and for many years the President of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Association of Massachusetts where she focused on expanding the professionalism of the organization through the education and training of its members. She was currently on the Board of Directors and Secretary of the National Wildlife Rehabilitation Association.
She was an avid reader and a lifelong student of history, literature and the practical arts. She developed extensive skills in the personal computer field, and was an accomplished quilter.
Mrs. Feeney sacrificed a potentially high skilled professional career to raise a family seeing each of her children obtain advanced degrees. She was always first and foremost a beloved wife and mother.
He survivors include her husband John F. Feeney of Groton, her daughter Laura Ann Feeney of Groton, NY, 2 sons David and his wife Regina Feeney of Newton, Daniel Feeney and his wife Katherine Guernsey of New Paltz, NY, and a brother Frank E. Morello of Freedom, Maine. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren Marla Mae Feeney, Lucas Feeney, Leo Feeney, Warren Feeney, Elijah "Jack" Feeney, Julia Feeney and Nicholas Marino.
