Francis “Frank” Thomas Kilroy, 93, of Westford, MA, passed away peacefully in his home on November 24th, 2025.
Francis’s passing brings grief for those who knew him, but solace that he is reunited with his wife of 66 years, who predeceased him, Barbara Ann Kilroy.
Francis was born on December 18th, 1931, to Mary and Thomas Kilroy of Boston, MA. Born as one of three siblings, he is survived by Patricia Therrien; predeceased by his sister, Mary Nee.
Francis is survived by seven children: Michael Kilroy, Kathleen Waterhouse, Patrick Kilroy, Frances Dumont, Timothy Kilroy, Thomas Kilroy, and Colleen Kilroy. In addition, he leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom will hold tight memories of their beloved, “Grumpy.”
He was a devoted brother, husband, father, and grandfather, cherishing the time he had with family. He was there for every birthday, baptism, anniversary, graduation, sporting event, and took pride in the growing family he and Barbara created.
At a young age, Francis served as a United States Marine and was deployed in the Korean Conflict. He later settled his family in Westford, building their family home and working diligently to start Kilroy Electric, which his sons continue today.
In his retirement years, he took pride in participating in the Lions Club International Fund. Francis enjoyed talking politics over a cup of coffee with friends down at The Village Store, hunting bargains at local flea markets, and growing bountiful flower and vegetable gardens. He also valued small trips to the beach with his beloved dog Remi, and annual trips to the Fryeburg Fair.
To have known Francis was to love him, and the time spent with him will be cherished by all for years to come.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Francis for a period of visitation on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton, MA.
