Frederic (Rick) Sarvela

Frederic (Rick) Sarvela, 70, of Littleton MA passed away on Thursday July 28th, 2022 after a lengthy illness.  Rick was a devoted husband and loving father.  He was predeceased by his mother, Irma, step-father Lauri, and his father, Fred. He leaves behind his wife, Sharon, three children Adam, Andrea, and Amy, five grandchildren Kai, Nicholas, Leo, Hayden, Harry, his sister, Tina and aunt and uncle Janet and Walter.

Born in Concord, MA, Rick grew up in Maynard, attended schools there and went on to graduate from Framingham State.  As a young man, Rick was passionate about fishing and camping, but you would never catch him going to the beach for a swim.  

A lifelong and passionate sports lover, Rick enjoyed watching all of the New England teams, and was a diehard fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.  He loved a good cup of coffee at any time of the day, enjoyed even more with one of his favorites, a piece of Finnish nissu. 

Rick was loved deeply by his children and grandchildren.  He was the first person the kids would run to when they got to the house for a visit.  They were his joy and he always gave the most comforting hugs when any of the kids were feeling blue.  

His Finnish heritage and sisu never wavered which kept him fighting until the end.

Rick’s boundless love and dedication to his family was unbreakable.  Although his physical presence may be gone, his love and spirit will live on in his children and grandchildren.  We love him and will miss him dearly.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Rick for a Memorial Service on Friday August 5, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 16 Great Sudbury Rd, Sudbury, MA.
