George Jones

George E. Jones, Jr. 87,of Westford, formerly of Littleton, died on March 27, 2015 at Genesis Westford House in Westford. He was born in Watertown, MA on September 5, 1927, son of the late George and Ida (Dilman) Jones. He grew up in Belmont and Watertown and graduated from Essex Agricultural School in Danvers and the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts. George married Mary Jane Peters in 1954 and took a job with United Fruit in the Honduras. They moved to Littleton in 1956 where he worked for Brand Rex in Acton as a wire inspector and later GenRad as an assembler until his retirement. Mary Jane died in 1968 and George married Patricia Tapley in 1974.

Mr. Jones was a member of St. Anne's Church in Littleton where he was a volunteer for various things such as bingo.. He enjoyed farming, including vegetable gardening and Christmas Trees.

He is survived by his wife Patricia (Tapley) (Cavanaugh ) Jones of Acton, 2 children Mary Beth Mesrobian of Salem and George E. Jones III of North Chelmsford, 2 stepchildren Garrett Cavanaugh of Townsend and Richard Cavanaugh of North Orange, and a sister Edith Baker of Camden, Maine. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren Brendan Cavanaugh, Jennifer Jones, Caitrin Cavanaugh Tesch, Garrett Devin Cavanaugh, David Mesrobian, and Andrew Mesrobian and a great grandchild Gunnar Scott Tesch.

Visiting Hours will be at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. Littleton on Wednesday April 1, 2015, from 5-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Anne' Church, 75 King Street Littleton on Thursday April 2 at 10 am. Burial at Westlawn Cemetery. For those who wish, Contributions may be made in his memory to Children's Hospital.
