Gerald (Jerry) Daniel Curtin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, in Chelmsford Massachusetts, with his daughter, Carolyn by his side.
Born and raised in “The Bronx” New York, he was the son of the late Gerald and Kathleen (Doran) Curtin. Jerry graduated from La Salle Academy in New York, attended Manhattan College, and went on to earn his master’s degree in engineering from New York University.
He had an extensive career as a division chief with the Federal Aviation Administration in New York, Ohio, and Massachusetts. After retiring from the FAA, Jerry worked as a consultant for the architectural and engineering firm of the HNTB Corporation.
Gerald is predeceased by his loving wife, Christine Erickson Curtin. They loved spending time at their summer cottage on Cape Cod and traveling to many different places.
Jerry is survived by his loving daughter, Carolyn Curtin Carbonell, and his grandsons who meant the world to him Charlie and Benjamin Carbonell all of Harvard, Massachusetts. He also leaves behind his nephew Lawrence Mellor of Pennsylvania and two great nephews Dan and Tom Mellor along with their families. He was predeceased by his sister Kathleen Mellor of New York.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and will always be remembered as an intelligent, kind, and gentle man.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 18th at 12:00 P.M. at St. Theresa’s Church, 15 Still River Rd., Harvard, MA. Visitation will be held in the church one hour prior from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Burial will take place on Monday, November 20th at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Route 134, South Dennis, MA.
