Gladys W. Wright, 91, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 after a period of declining health. She was born in Pepperell on September 18, 1923, daughter of the late Forrest and Clara (French) Duke.
She was married on September 23, 1945 in Pepperell to the love of her life, the late Raymond S. Wright. They celebrated 67 years of marriage together.

During her working years, Gladys was employed at several companies, concluding with the former NEBS, Inc. in Groton. She also spent many years as a homemaker and caregiver to her family.

Gladys loved to knit and crochet. She made many afghans for family and friends throughout her lifetime. She will be lovingly remembered for baking homemade bread, doughnuts, and especially apple pies for her husband. She enjoyed weekly card games with friends and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a beautiful and giving person who has left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Gladys is survived by three daughters, Gail Shattuck and her husband David of Pepperell, Patricia Lynch and her husband Michael of Pepperell, and Cheryl Wright of Elyria, OH; and also a son Barry Wright and his wife Jane of Cabot, VT. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as five grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.

A funeral service and calling hour will be held at Marchand Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Pepperell, on Thursday, January 8th from 11AM-12pm followed by services with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
