Harold R. "Dick" Austin, 86, a longtime resident of Pepperell died Thursday evening, August 21st at his residence with his son David by his side. He was the husband of the late Gertrude H. (Williams) Austin who died in 2000.
He was born in Lowell, MA on February 15, 1928, the son of the late Harold L. and Mary (Lsky) Austin. He was educated in the Lowell School System.
Prior to his retirement in 1993, he was employed as a press operator for Bemis Company in Pepperell for 39 years. While living in Pepperell, Mr. Austin was a member of the Bemis 20 Year Club and attended the Pepperell Senior Center.
He leaves a son, David R. Austin and long-time companion, Charlene "Sherry" Bunting of Fitchburg, MA and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, August 28th at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, Heald Street, Pepperell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MSPCA.
