Helen F. (Kopec) Rooks

Helen Frances Rooks (Kopec) passed away on December 7, 2022, at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley, at the age of 93. Her beloved husband of 66 years, Carlton Rooks predeceased her in April of 2019. 

Helen was born in Groton on February 20, 1929, the daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Zalesney) Kopec. Helen attended Groton High School and graduated in 1947. She was married to her husband Carlton on November 2, 1952, at St. James Church in Groton. Helen and Carlton settled in Westford where they remained and raised their family. 

Helen was employed at Groton Leatherboard Company in East Groton, and she also worked at Stop & Shop in Chelmsford for over15 years. She retired in 1993 from Frequency Sources Inc of Chelmsford. Helen was a parishioner of the Saint Catherine of Alexandria Church in Westford. Helen enjoyed spending summers with family at her camp in Maine. She liked to read, knit, and crochet Additionally, she enjoyed needlepoint and making gifts for family and friends. Helen was an avid Bingo player who loved going to Bingo with her friends. She continued to play Bingo, and Win!! while at Life Care Center of Nashoba Valley.  

Helen is survived by her sons; Robert and Richard Rooks, her grandchildren; Rebecca Louh and her husband Steven and Robert Rooks Jr. and his wife Erica as well as three great-grandchildren. Helen is sadly predeceased by her siblings; Stanley Kopec, Edward Kopec and Stephanie (Kopec) Tedesco. 

A graveside service will be held for both Helen and Carlton on Wednesday December 14, 2022, at 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery, corner of Main Street & Tadmuck Road, Westford, MA.
