Groton, Massachusetts

Henry T. Woodle (88), of Groton, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024, at Care Dimensions House in Lincoln, surrounded by his loving family. Born May 17, 1935, he was the son of the late David and Anne (Joyce) Woodle. Henry was a loving and devoted husband to Dororthy for 63 years.

From his earliest days he fell under the spell of Lost Lake, Groton, a summer refuge for his family since the 1920’s. It was there that he met Dorothy over 80 years ago. He was a gentleman in his business dealings where his word was his bond. Henry’s employees were like family and remember his generosity and great sense of humor.

Henry was an Indian Hill Music (now Groton Hill Music Center) supporter and business partner for well over 25 years, and a dedicated sponsor of their public school outreach programs.

In his personal life, he enjoyed cars and was a founding member of the No-Mads, a Hot Rod Club in Newton. He was inducted into the New England Hot Rod Hall of Fame in 2011. Henry loved driving, making trips to Florida, Tennessee, Newfoundland, Canada, the western states and most memorable of all, a 12,000 mile trip to Alaska.

Henry leaves behind his loving wife, Dorothy (Day) Woodle, his son Jeffrey Woodle and his son David Woodle and his wife, Annette,. his beloved grandchildren Erin Woodle and David Woodle, his sisters Nancy Woodle and Therese Braudis (Peter), Rosemary Keane, his sister, pre-deceased him, his cousins Martin (Elyse) Woodle and Alexander (Lynda) Woodle, plus many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, relatives and friends.
