James H. Kerrigan Jr.

James H Kerrigan Jr, age 71, of Shirley, MA passed away on Friday June 10, 2022, after an unexpected stint in the ICU.

James, who preferred to go by Jim, was born on September 11, 1950 to the late James H Kerrigan Sr of Rhode Island and the late Loretta Kerrigan of Rhode Island. He attended Northeastern University where he earned his Master’s degree in Chemistry.

Jim was a friendly, loving and caring person. He had the uncanny ability to strike up a conversation wherever he went, with whoever was around. He was always there to lend a helping hand to whomever needed it. Jim loved taking care of his garden and spent a lot of time on it. He would often spend mornings listening to classic rock and he enjoyed watching Boston sports teams.

Jim is survived by his children, Jon Kerrigan of Philadelphia, PA, Kristin Kerrigan of Malden, MA, and Caitlin Kerrigan of Ayer, MA, as well as his long time partner of over 10 years, Lyn Sterling Doran of Shirley, MA.

Celebration of Life to be held on July 17, 2022 at the residence he shared with his partner, Lyn.
