Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 23, 1937, Jim grew up in the Bronx, NY. After earning his Bachelor's degree in Engineering from CCNY, James and Nancy were married on January 30, 1960, and they moved to Massachusetts, making Littleton their home for the past 60 years. He later earned a Master's degree from Northeastern and worked for MIT at its Lincoln Laboratory in Westford, MA until his retirement. Jim's contributions to the Apollo space program mission were among his most proud career accomplishments.

His creativity and ingenuity extended past his workplace. For decades, Jim "hosted" the Great Pumpkin at his home, entertaining local trick-or-treaters with an animated, talking pumpkin. Jim loved technology and learning and incorporated these into everything he did, including his flourishing garden.
