Goffstown, NH -- Jane N. (Coates) Barry, 86, died peacefully on Feb. 17, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Roy F. and Mary (Ford) Coates Sr. of Medford, MA. A long time resident of Groton MA, she was predeceased by her husband Henry F. Barry Jr., son Christopher Barry, siblings Roy F. Coates Jr. , Peg Delaney, Irene Brown, and Paul Coates.
Survived by siblings Elinor and Jim Coates of Florida, children and their spouses; ; Tom & Joanne Barry of Marlboro, MA, Mark & Paula Barry of Townsend, MA, Bob & Laurie Barry of Litchfield, NH, Greg & Ellie Barry of Merrimack, NH, Jack & Donna Barry of Auburn NH and Carol & Dale Townsend of Weare, NH. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Jane had dedicated much of her life to volunteering in civic, social and educational endeavors. In years past she was active at St. Agnes Parish in Reading, Ma., St. Anne's Parish in Littleton, Ma., the Sacred Heart church, the Groton Senior Center and the parent teachers guild of the Country Day School in Groton, Ma.. She was a volunteer nurse's aide in Cambridge and worked at the Kennebunk Nursing Center in Kennebunk, Me. She was past president of the Nashoba Community Hospital Auxilliary and past chairman of the Nashoba Valley Technical High School Committee.
Jane loved to sing and to write poetry but her greatest joy was caring for family and friends.
Visiting Hrs. Friday Feb. 27, 5 - 8pm at Badger Funeral Home, 45 School St. Groton, MA. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, Feb 28, at 10 am at Our Lady of Grace parish worshipping at St. Joseph's Church 28 Tarbell St. Pepperell, Ma.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jane's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
