Jane (Gold) Brillinger

April 18, 1936 — April 14, 2017

Jane (Gold) Brillinger age 80 of Maynard formerly of Acton and Westford passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Tippett House in Needham. She was the wife of the late James Howard Brillinger.

Born in New York, NY on April 18, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Kester) Gold. Jane was raised and educated in New York and moved to New Jersey; Jane and James and their family soon settled in Westford and then later moved to Acton.

Jane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She also rescued and was then owned by many cats, as well as one dog and one parrot, all of whom loved her dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and was a faithful and long time member of the United Methodist Church of Westford. She was, over the years, a Sunday School teacher, a bookseller, an elementary school aide, an employee in a publishing house and an employee of the Museum of Fine Arts, as well as a philosopher, a theological scholar, and a playwright.

She is survived by her sons, Peter J. Brillinger and Fred Brillinger, her brother Theodore Gault, her grandson Simon Brillinger, and her daughter-in-law Marney Brillinger.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church of Westford, 10 Church St., Westford, MA
