Janice Elizabeth Manchuso

December 29, 1939 — June 30, 2022

Wrentham

Janice Elizabeth Manchuso (Farrell) of Wrentham, MA, formerly of Littleton, MA, on June 30, 2022, at 82 years.  Beloved wife of 51 years of the late John Manchuso of Concord.  Loving mother of Scott, and wife Fran of Wrentham, MA.  Cherished grandmother of Erin and James. Dear sister of Dorothy of Andover, Edward (deceased), Barbara Glore and her husband James of Doylestown, PA, and Stephen Farrell and his wife Susan of NH. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews.

Born in Waltham, December 29, 1939, to the late Lester and Esther (Fahey) Farrell.  Raised in Newton, she attended St. Bernard’s High School and subsequently attended Newton Wellesley Nursing School, graduating in 1960.

After graduation, she was recruited to help set-up the first intensive care unit at Emerson Hospital in Concord, where she worked for a number of years, before moving to manage surgical practice where she routinely treated cancer patients in early stages of their treatments.  In 1988, she herself was treated for breast cancer, and at a time when cancer was not widely discussed publicly, decided to give back by starting a series of support groups for newly diagnosed breast cancer survivors.

Jan is a long time, proud member of the Littleton Country Gardeners, and served in various leadership roles, including club president.  She proudly returned to install newly elected officers in a ceremony this Spring.  Very involved in St. Anne’s/Blessed Trinity Parish, Jan was an active Sodality member, and found comfort helping others through St. Vincent de Paul where she was able to help support and guide our community’s  most economically vulnerable members.  In 2020, Jan moved to Wrentham to live closer to her son and daughter-in-law.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Janice for a period of visitation on Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. A funeral Mass will be held for Janice on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Anne's Parish, 75 King Street, Littleton.  Interment at Westlawn Cemetery will be private.
